Itinerary
7 nights/8 days Embarkation in Luxor, disembarkation in Luxor
On arrival to Luxor, you will be met and transfered to your cruise vessel, your home for the next seven nights.
Luxor-Edfu Today you will visit Thebes and the famous Valley of the Kings, where 64 of Egypt’s pharaohs had their tombs carved out of solid rock. Highlights also include the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, built right into the sheer Theban cliffs, as well the Colossi of Memnon. Sail to Edfu.
Edfu-Kom Ombo Today, you will visit Edfu and the astonishing Temple of Horus, the Nile’s best preserved temple. After lunch on board, sail to Kom Ombo. Kom Ombo is known for its celebrated twin temples dedicated to the sun and crocodile gods and their beautiful murals, where you can also enjoy superb views over the Nile.
Kom Ombo-Aswan Sail to Aswan. Highlights today include the Aswan High Dam, Old Aswan Dam the Unfinished Obelisk in the Granite Quarries . Sailing by felucca (Egyptian sailing boat) around the Lord Kitchener botanical Island and the Elephantine island .
Aswan-Esna In the morning, possibility for optional tour to Abu Simbel by bus or flight . Abu Simbel is the site of one of the greatest engineering feats by UNESCO to save Egyptian monuments from the waters of Lake Nasser, the artificial lake created behind the Aswan High Dam, that wiped out the Kingdom of Nubia. You will see the great temple of Ramses II, with its four massive seated figures of the youthful Ramses, carved into the side of the cliff, to resemble a temple pylon and rising to 32 ms. Now they are supported on an artificial domed structure . Visit as well the temple of queen Nefertari built by her husband for her . After lunch , sail form Aswan heading to Luxor through Esna locks.
Esna-Luxor Arrive Luxor. Today’s highlights include the Temple of Luxor, and the gigantic Temple of Amon at Karnak.
